Ray’s been an integral part of skateboarding and the TWS family for decades. The one-time TWS darkroom overlord started his now world-famous zine series and has been running it tough for decades, including and inspiring photographers the world over. Aaron Rose did a mini doc on HE in the past and now wrongsideofthelens.com is giving Ray the doc treatment. Check it out, sure to inspire.

„RAY POTES is Hamburger Eyes; a black and white only photo publication with over 200 titles and four million pages outputted. An enormous international roster of photographers continuously submit to the magazine for the chance to be on these prestigious pages. In return they get a free copy, bragging rights and the great feeling of being included in this conversation. As much of an honor it is for these photogs, Ray is the one that feels thankful. He’s honored these skilled artists are participating in his ongoing version of a more gritty National Geographic. This labor of love has kept Ray busy for two decades. He’s recently relocated from his San Francisco home to the new pastures of Los Angeles. The tech industry squeezed him like so many others forcing him to shutter his famous studio which brought so many artists together like a think tank on culture. For Ray, this is only a minor speed bump in the forward force of Hamburger eyes which Ray says has taken on a consciousness of its own. He’s riding this existential journey as long as he can, which, like most things, is uncertain.“

Nothin‘ we love more than seein‘ Jaws huck down an unthinkable gap. And he’s done just that so many times in his career. In this new video from Bones Wheels, he takes us back to a massive apartment chasm he cleared back in 2015. Check out what urethane keeps him rolling.

Just look at the height of that thing when he’s standing at the top. 21 stairs. He can still jump off the top of it though! The whole video has insane stunts and drops from Jaws‘ 20+ years in skating. Here’s to many more, if your knees can hold up! 

We just hung with Jaws at Simple Session in Estonia, and he was going off!

IG compilations are a dime a dozen, but they’re usually cobbled together by some Youtuber, often with low quality rips, etc. But when the man himself edits one together with his IG story clips, and the man is Mark Suciu, well, you’ve got to sit back and see where the level of skating is for this dude when he’s just putting the clips to disappear after 24 hours. Peep it. 

Extreme story compilation is a pretty good name for it. Lovely to see, he’s even got some self-filmed gems buried in there. Heavy stuff, funny stuff, some NBD flatbar tricks in there too maybe. God bless him, he’ll be here for a while.

It’s been about five years since we’ve seen a Featured Deck from Michael Thomas, but we’re stoked to see he’s still out there designing skateboards for his friends. When we saw the new Spitfire x Last Resort edit, we couldn’t help but remember Habitat’s Skate & Create entry from 2012. Have a look at both edits and feel the vibe of making anything in your city skateable. 

Now take a BTS look at Habitat’s effort. Where the finished product is, is anyone’s guess. Love the internet…

Taking kickers to street spots has been a thing since the 80s (peep Sick Boys or any old Bones Brigade footage). We’re always hyped on the nods to the past. The Girl team had one of the best skits of all time in Goldfish, too.
