Hoping for the best in more ways than one, Pasha sent over his new video and with it, this sobering message:
„When the war unleashed, we all went on strikes and some of us left Russia for good, but we quickly realized that we can’t do much about the situation — it’s the government’s war, and they couldn’t care less about our opinions and actions. 2022 was a fucked up year, but in 2023 me and my friends decided that the best we can do is what we do best: Be ourselves, do no harm to people and keep skateboarding. As the snow melted in March 2023, we started filming in the streets of Siberia, and now we have this short video. Weird no complys, primo slides, body varials in the middle of Hubbas, unusual combinations, a couple big spots and probably some NBDs — all we wanted to do for this video turned out as a win.“
„The name of the video is HOPING FOR THE BEST — that’s what we’re doing as we try to deal with all this crazy shit life had in store for us. I know Russian footage is frowned upon at the moment, but I thought I’d give it a shot. Hopefully the world gets back to normal sooner than later.“
Imagine a skate media outlet that won’t publish skateboarding in Russia right now…
You may remember Pasha’s creative skating in his 20 Points part from a few years back:
Here’s hoping for a peaceful future, soon.

It’s official, after 14 years of ups and downs, the City of Corvallis, OR, has accepted the proposed plans to build a bowl that has been in the works since 2009 near the existing Corvallis Skatepark.
Dreamland Skateparks are the builders behind this bowl, leading experts in the industry. The new bowl will be a wonderful addition to the local community as it adds a brand new sculpted piece of concrete for the local transition lovers. Although the bowl will not be connected to the existing park it will be right next to it, under the bridge, potentially making it skateable even when it rains. Check out the proposed plans below!

The plans are approved, permits have been given, and ground will be broken in March 2024, with expected plans for completion in the summer of 2024, making its debut in the middle of the traditional rainy states‘ dry season.

This has been quite the bountiful year as far as freshly poured skateparks go, and one of the largest contributors to the 2023 new skatepark boom is Grindline Skateparks.
Grindline was created by Mark “Monk” Hubbard, a legend that we will never stop talking about. His presence in skateboarding is unmatched and the stamp he made on the community will forever be remembered.
Monk and his crew have created some of the most incredible parks to exist; Rhodes in Boise, ID; Delridge in Seattle, WA; Paines in Philadelphia, PA; and the Louisville Skatepark in KY to name a few.
One thing that sets Grindline apart from many other builders is that they put a heavy focus on integrating local identity whenever possible in their designs. Check out the slides below for examples below to get a sense of their true craftsmanship!

The first park is a great example of their community-focused designs, as it features the apple bowl. Located in Wenatchee, WA, the apple capital of the world.
The other slides show more parks that do a pretty stellar job harnessing the local identity of where they are built!
