Vans EU’s „Where Is Tom?“ Video

Daniel Wheatley recently shared a teaser for his upcoming video, Blanket and it looks to me like it has an absolutely stacked lineup, to say the least. It was actually pretty funny (and clever) that he hit us with all those names at the beginning of the clip… only to say, „…all have been really busy!“
Nick Michel, Reynolds, Jerry Hsu, Manchild… geez! But in fairness, he follows it up with, „But, we definitely got…“ and that list is still just as impressive in its own right. If you’re wondering, „Uh… what?“ just watch the trailer!
Regardless, I think there’s going to be a variety of heavy cameos from your favorite skaters and their favorite skaters, with full parts from Matlok Bennett Jones and Mingus Gamble secured (well, at least that’s what the YouTube description tells us).
The trailer looks sick, though. I like the direction Wheatley is taking it for sure. Not everyone can pull off a skate video teaser with no skating, but for whatever reason, it really works here. Consider me fired up! With a star-studded cast like this, I’ll take it.

Like the video mentions, hopefully all these heavy-hitters can come through with some clips in the next month or so—can you imagine if everyone listed here really made the cut? Again, either way, it looks like it’s going to be a great independent skate video. We’re ready.

The Desert Skate Ranch, located in the middle of California’s Mojave Desert, has been around for a few years. Recently, this little gem came under new ownership, with Cory Keen (of Keen Ramps) and all-around ripping human, TJ Gaskill steering the ship and making some major improvements to the place.
They’ve been putting in a ton of work to make this already epic skateboarding dreamland even more epic and are prepared to launch DSR 2.0 this Fall!

Aside from adding new stuff to skate (like the DeathMatch mini ramp above), they’re also staying busy building roads, carving out campsites and generally revamping the place to accommodate the masses that will surely flock to this incredible place. Because as rad as this mini ramp looks… there’s an entire concrete park to rip around on as well. Check it below:

The DIY spirit is alive and well out there in the desert—in fact, it’s thriving—and these dudes know first hand that the old saying, „If you build it, they will come“ is all too true. Really, though… if there’s ever been a place to grab your friends and go on a skateboarding field trip, this is the place.

Just seeing these pictures and videos (and really, all the incredible work and progress these dudes have been making) gets my leg revving like crazy. Skating, camping, live music, fire pits, BBQ—again, it’s simply paradise.
If you aren’t following the Ranch on Instagram (@desertskateranch), be sure to click on over and do it. They’re posting updates pretty consistently and we’ll certainly be doing the same over here.
Above all, if you happen to find yourself over there before their official launch, be respectful, pick up your trash and simply put: don’t be lame! These guys are putting in a lot of time and energy to make this place rad for everyone to enjoy, so let’s give them the same respect back. Keep up the good work, dudes! This is epic.

Our pals Mitch and Steve over at Dead Air Radio recently did a rundown on our latest two-part SkateHoarders episode with Dave Skoot and took the time to dig a little deeper into Dave’s impressive board collection, as well as provide some fun stories about Dave since they’re all close friends.
Stuff like this is always fun and these dudes definitely have stories for days. If you enjoyed the episodes, you’ll get a kick out of this. Dive in!
In the caption of the video, Dead Air Radio mentions:
„Last week TransWorld released 2 episodes of SkateHoarders revolving around Dave Skoot, a Staten Island native who Steve and Mitch know really well. Steve gets into the behind the scenes of the episode, along with Mitch and Steve sharing stories about Dave.“
This is some true skate nerd stuff right here! And we love it. As skateboarders, we all have collections of our own—large and small—and we can all relate to sitting around and swapping similar stories with our homies just like this. Shout out to Mitch and Steve for diving into the episode! So rad. And thanks again to Dave for taking the time to share his collection in the first place.
More SkateHoarders coming soon…
