Keenan Forever
“For the past ten years or so, I get a lot of mixed heavy feelings on the posts about Keenan on the 4th of July. I can’t think of that day and him in anything but a sad, painful way. Keenan passed that weekend at a 4th celebration. He was too young to die and I think, I had hoped, too old to die in the way that he did. And when someone is as alive as Keenan was, as aware of making all moments of so much value, never letting circumstances limit him, it feels, well, just completely fucked. So my proposal is this; how about we celebrate August 4th? The day Keenan and his magical energy, infectious loving and lust for life was born?
