Yardsale Drops New Video ‚Freedom Plaza‘ Ahead of New Drop

To celebrate their new Fall drop, the powers that be at Yardsale just dropped a new video filmed exclusively at Stalin Plaza while on a recent visit to Prague. Feast your eyes on ‚FREEDOM PLAZA‘ and get stoked.

The clip features clips from Bear Myles, Zach Smith, Curtis Pearl, Kelvinas Litvinas, Alex Hatfield, Stanley Pradel, and Thaynan Costa. As always, they absolutely light up the screen from beginning to end. Is it me, or do these drops and edits just keep getting better and better? Always a good day when a new one arrives.

How sick is this plaza? It’s obviously a mandatory stop if you ever find yourself in Prague. Filming an entire edit at one spot can seem ambitious, but this crew absolutely delivered. Yardsale clips always speak for themselves. This crew rips and this edit has a vibe of its own, in only the best way.

Fast. Powerful. Straight to the point. I dare you to tell me that watching them effortlessly glide over that marble ground with every line isn’t the most satisfying thing you’ve seen today! No wonder they filmed an entire edit at this spot—it’s paradise!

All day, all night, the hits just keep coming. I’ll tell you what—one thing this edit did was make me want to skate. I’m also craving some ultra-smooth plaza ground now, too. Just can’t get over it!

Watch: Tyler Surrey’s New ‚Indy‘ Part Is an Absolute Breath of Fresh Air

Tyler Surrey is an absolute legend. Whenever this technical wizard hits us with a new video part, it’s a cause for celebration, and his latest banger for Independent Trucks is no exception. From California to Argentina, no terrain is safe from Surrey. Sit back, settle in and get stoked:

„This part was filmed in two places that are very special to me: Argentina and California,“ Tyler wrote on Instagram. „I was on a separate filming trip in Argentina for a month and on the last day we found the pin (featured in the video) on the ground. I took it as a sign and decided to stay an extra month there, which resulted in the first half of this part filmed with @kokostreetsports, and making this video possible.“

Safe to say, we’re all glad he found that pin. I’ve been eagerly awaiting a new Surrey video part and this couldn’t have come at a better time. This dude’s talent is unmatched—board control, style, an unreal bag of tricks…he can literally do it all.

You know how skateboarders will say things like, „The world is our canvas.“ Well, just think of how vast Surrey’s canvas is. This dude is so creative and has so much control, he can literally skate anything and make it work. Some of the „spots“ he skates in this part are spots only he could skate. That says a lot.

I like how they split this into two different sections, too. Doesn’t matter where this dude is in the world, he’ll skate any spot you put in front of him and leave with more than a few clips for good measure. Like I said…GOAT.

Wait until you see that quick manual spot to three stair—tell me this dude doesn’t have magic feet! I don’t know why those clips caught my attention so much, but geez, how can he be that effortless rifling those off? Shoutout to Indy and Surrey for blessing us with this part. Needed this!

Nike SB Celebrates 20 Years of Grant Taylor with Limited Edition SB Blazer Low GT

One skateboarder who needs no introduction, Grant Taylor has been tackling all types of heavy terrain for The Swoosh the past 20 years and if you saw him skating today, you’d think the dude was just getting started. Skateboarding is literally part of his DNA.

Nike SB just dropped a limited SB Blazer Low GT to celebrate two decades of radness and it’s available now at select skate shops across the globe. Get a closer look below:

„Grant Taylor’s run with Nike SB has been a heavy 20. Two decades deep, GT’s signature shoe gets a special anniversary treatment, inspired by the aesthetics and craft of fine China plates,“ Nike mentions on their site. „The SB Blazer Low Pro GT breaks tradition by mixing sophisticated materials and patterns with details that are all Grant and all grit.“

If you haven’t already, peep the video above and take a little trip down memory lane through the last 20 some odd years. Grant has been on fire the last two decades, truly never slowing down and constantly giving it his all.

You might think it’s no biggie considering how talented he is—of course he’s always killing it—but skill like that comes with a ton of hard work. The kind that separates the greats from the rest. And Grant is an absolute GOAT.

Back to the shoes—they’re soft yet durable on the outside, „designed with a premium leather construction and subtle embossed details,“ Nike mentions. Yeah, the attention to detail here is something to admire. And while I know it’s pretty common to say something like, cheers to 20 more years or something along those lines, well, this time I really mean it!

Grant Taylor is one of those skateboarders who are here for the long haul. Natural talent. Envious style. Unreal execution. The dude just looks good on a skateboard. He’s one of the rare ones that you can’t help but just sit back and watch if he’s on the session.

Thanks for two decades of absolute inspiration, Grant. Keep your foot on the gas.

Tony Hawk Joins Skateboarding Photographer J. Grant Brittain for Special Town Hall Discussion

In celebration of Grant Brittain’s very first museum exhibition retrospective Push: 80s Skateboarding Photography, which features his era-defining photographs that capture the spirit and evolution of 1980s skate culture, Hawk and Brittain will be participating in a private meet and greet. This will be followed by an engaging town hall discussion and Q/A session that gives attendees a first look into their backgrounds and inspirations.

The event takes place on Thursday, November 7 at the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA).

The Orlando Museum of Art just announced a first of its kind, intimate event featuring Tony Hawk on Thursday, November 7 at the museum. This special occasion will include a town hall discussion moderated by Chuck Dinkins and will celebrate Hawk’s incredible impact on the world of skateboarding and influence on the arts.

Hawk is prominently featured in the museum’s new exhibit PUSH – showcasing seminal photographs by Brittain that capture the spirit and evolution of skate culture. This exhibit not only highlights his iconic career but also pays homage to the art of skateboarding through Brittain’s lens.

„The evening will kick off with a private Meet and Greet, and will also feature a town hall discussion, where attendees will listen to Hawk and Brittain share insights about his journey and their passion for inspiring future generations. The moderated conversation will provide a unique perspective on the art behind the photos and the stories they tell. Audience members will have the chance to submit questions that may be chosen a Q&A session.“

„This event is a vibrant celebration of skateboarding and the rich artistry and culture that accompany it,” said Brittain. “Tony’s influence has shaped a generation and I’ve had the honor of watching him from behind the lens over the years. We are thrilled to share his remarkable story with the Orlando community.”

“We couldn’t be more delighted to host this extraordinary event that celebrates two icons in their respective field,” said CEO of OMA Cathryn Mattson. “We’re especially eager to highlight the intersection of sport and art within our museum, showcasing how these two worlds inspire and enrich one another.”

Paul Rodriguez Releases Part 2 of ‚Me, Myself & I‘ B-Sides on YouTube

Paul Rodriguez recently uploaded Part 1 of his ‚Me, Myself & I‘ B-Sides—leftovers and outtakes from his heavy 2010 video part for Plan B. At the time, this part was Paul’s first video part since Nike SB’s Nothing but the Truth [2007] and really showcased a serious period of Paul’s progression during this era.

He just dropped Part 2, and I’ll just say, if you enjoyed the first installment you’re going to be hyped on this. Take a look:

I’ll always be a fan of this era of P-Rod. Depending on your age, you’ve probably seen Paul grow up through the decades thanks in part to video parts like this. He’s always been unbelievably talented, but the fact that he’s literally still progressing to this day is pretty unreal. A living, breathing GOAT.

Also, for any die-hard golden era VX1000 lovers out there, these clips take us all back to a time when things were…simpler. There’s nothing simple about the tricks Paul is firing off, but the colors, the clothes, the shoes, the sounds—this was right before everything sort of started to transition yet again.

That’s why I love raw clips and throwback footage like this. It’s like stepping into a time capsule. The nostalgia hits hard, bringing back a flood of memories—not just of this specific part, respectfully, but of that whole era in skateboarding and life itself. These 13 minutes really capture the vibe of this time, you know? And watching it brings everything rushing back in the coolest way.

I’m not sure how many more of these P-Rod is going to be releasing, but I hope he keeps them coming. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Paul! I remember a lot of this like it was yesterday.

Black Label’s New Barcode “Shredded” Graphic Comes In 15 Different Shapes and Sizes

Board brands experimenting with fresh takes on classic graphics is nothing new. Sometimes it works, other times it’s debatable. But when an iconic, respected brand like Black Label does it, well, there’s never a debate. Especially when they offer it in 15 different shapes and sizes. Take a look:

Black Label’s ‚Barcode‘ graphic is synonymous with the brand and if you’re like me, you’ve been seeing it for as long as you can remember. Their „never be bought, never be sold“ ethos lives on to this day. With John Lucero steering the ship and still hand-screening graphics, often personally shipping orders and fully embodying that DIY lifestyle, these are just a few of the reasons I’ve always been such a fan of the brand.

Swipe through the post above and you can actually see the barcodes that Lucero cut up (by hand) to make this graphic what it is. I mean, I know other brands will sometimes do things similarly, but John has always been quite literally hands-on when it comes to Label graphics and concepts. It’s just rad.

And let’s not forget—Label is offering 15 different shapes and sizes with this board, and most of their planks are often offered the same way. He’s always playing with shapes, always nerding out on sizes, but always keeps quality at the top of his priority list. Have you ever ridden a Black Label board? Exactly.

I’m 34 years old and I’ve been skating since I was 10. To some of you reading this, that might make me super young. To others, I’m the old dude rolling around your local park or spots keeping the dream alive. But my point is, Black Label has been around since I got into skateboarding and has always been one of my favorite brands.

Seeing Lucero keeping the dream alive in his own way—in 2024, no less—still skating curbs, being goofy and putting his heart and soul into this brand is so admirable. In fact, that’s not saying enough. At any rate, it keeps me stoked and I hope other skaters out there feel the same.

Look for these new graphics, along with plenty of other Black Label boards at your local shop and scoop one up. By skateboarders, for skateboarders. Enough said.

Professional skateboarder Willis Kimbel, a prominent member of the Portland skating community, has planted his flag in his community with the launch of his own skate shop, Rip’s Co. Aside from the new pro model graphics, Krooked also has multiple planks with their Easy Rider concave in the mix as well. Honestly, stamp those classic Krooked eyes on anything and consider me a fan. At the same time, basically all Krooked graphics will simply never get old, as far as I’m concerned. No debate.

Head down to your local skate shop and see this new drop in person. These planks and apparel should be blessing board walls and squeaky racks as I write this. At the very least, let this be a reminder as to just how stacked the Krooked team seriously is. Not even playing favorites, either, but the Una Farrar and Tom Knox graphics look so rad. They’re all solid, but I really like those.

The holidays are upon us! While we can all expect plenty of other drops from Krooked and all the rad brands at DLX, you should still act fast and get these boards while the getting is good. I know from personal experience that Krooked planks sail off the board walls at shops across the country, so if you have your eyes on any of these, get there while you can.

Look: Lakai Teases New Public Enemy Capsule Hitting Shops Now

The new Lakai x Public Enemy collection is hitting skate shops nationwide as you read this. They’ve been teasing some of the gear for a few months and it’s finally here! The capsule includes shoes, slippers, apparel, and some unique accessories (like a mini baseball bat) that any skateboarding Public Enemy fan will love.

As far as shoes, the Cambridge, Telford Low, Owen Vulc and Owen Slipper all got the Public Enemy treatment, and to accompany them, a few tees, socks, hoody, jacket, beanie and accessories—including a sticker pack, a slip mat for turntables, and as mentioned, a mini baseball bat—round out the capsule perfectly.

Seeing Rick and Mike rocking the tee and hoody in the post above got me fired up on this new collection in itself, this is one of those link ups that just make sense. Last Resort AB Drops ‚Doomed From the Jump‘ Outtakes and Bonus Clips

Last Resort AB just uploded some attempts, makes, heartbreaks and unseen clips from their latest video, ‚Doomed From the Jump‘ on their YouTube channel for us all to enjoy. This is the good stuff! Take a look:

The gang’s all here! Join Chris Milic, Jesse Alba, Nick Rios, Cruise Mosberg, David Stenström, Paul Grund, Dane Brady, Aaron Loreth, and Frankie Decker as they let us be a fly on the wall during some of the heated sessions that went into making the video. Honestly, I might have enjoyed this more than the video itself. Love me some raw clips and behind-the-scenes action.

Clips like this remind us all just how much blood, sweat and effort go into making these videos and securing these clips. So many battles. So many slams. So many close-calls. All for a few seconds of riding away! Never gets old.

But I think the icing on the cake is all the hype these sessions provide. We all know the feeling. The only thing better than landing a trick you’ve been battling is seeing your homies do the same thing. The streets will always provide. And the never-ending war between tricks and terrain continues.
