Alexis Sablone Talks Designing Nike SB Federation Kits for 2024 Paris Olympics

Hard to believe that the 2024 Paris Olympics are truly right around the corner. There’s a lot going on right now as skateboarders across the globe prepare themselves for the World Stage, but the same can be said for all the folks putting in work behind the scenes as well. Like the one and only, Alexis Sablone.

Nike SB recently hit up Alexis to dig a little deeper into her creative process designing their Federation Kits, to chat about the Chameleon Dunk Low and her signature CONS AS-1 Pro (both dropping in late August) and a whole lot more. On and off the board, Alexis stays busy, but 2024 has definitely been a pretty monumental year for her so far.

In the interview, Alexis mentions:

„Skaters have always expressed their individual style, at least partly, through the clothing they choose to put on. Unlike in regular ’sports‘, where a uniform is almost an expectation, in skateboarding, it’s an altogether foreign concept. I wanted to be sensitive to that by trying to create really diverse range of options, so skaters could still try to pick something that felt like them.“

Honestly, it’s a great read, full of super interesting insights that I personally wasn’t expecting. Alexis rules. Simple as that. So, if anything, click over and simply hear what this ripper has to say. Designing kits for the Olympics is no small feat! From skating to design and truly a million impressive things in between, we can’t help but wonder what she can’t do!?

First Look: Mark Gonzales‘ adidas Shmoofoil Slip in White Canvas

Gonz and adidas just dropped a new Shmoofoil slip-on in white canvas providing us all with either a clean white kick… or an opportunity to get artsy and rad on what’s basically a blank canvas shoe silhouette. Stylish. Comfortable. Functional. What more do you need? Dig in below and start swiping for a closer look:

Personally, I love slip-ons and like all slips, these things offer some serious ease and convenience whether you’re skating or just hanging out. But again, it’s the minimalist design that really makes them rad. I know you all have some Sharpies sitting around somewhere… what would Gonz do?

For those of you who want the nitty-gritty details, adidas says this:

„The Shmoofoil Slip features a vulc outsole for an optimal blend of grip and boardfeel with an EVA midsole for added comfort. A seamless interior construction is paired with a heavy duty canvas upper that is finished with an embroidered Shmoofoil logo—Mark’s interpretation of the iconic adidas Trefoil.“

They’re available now at skate shops across the globe. But if they don’t have them, hit the adidas site!

Blood, Sweat, and Bails: Watch Mathias Torres‘ Raw Clips From Creature’s Latest Video ‚HAVOC‘

There’s no denying Mathias Torres put in a lot of hard work, heavy miles and some serious slams to produce the part we all saw in Creature’s latest video, HAVOC

And if his part got you fired up, well, just wait until you see some of the battles and raw clips from those heated sessions. Buckle up and hold on tight.

Mathias is one of those no nonsense skaters—he clearly just goes for it. A true ATV killer, this dude can truly do it all (and he does). He fits the Creature mold perfectly, that’s for sure. His HAVOC part was definitely a standout part. The dude came out swinging and handled biz.

If you haven’t seen HAVOC, click the post above and watch it in its entirety. Honestly, even if you have… watch it again! The whole Creature squad killed it. I hope they drop a few more of these raw clips from the rest of the crew. Since we can’t be in the van with them, just consider this the next best thing.

Erick Winkowski and Cole Gossetton Battle It Out on the Santa Cruz ‚Super S.K.A.T.E. Show‘

Andrew Cannon is the host of the new Santa Cruz YouTube series, The Santa Cruz SUPER S.K.A.T.E Show and the second episode just went live, featuring Erick Winkowski and Cole Gossetton.

The possibilities for an idea like this are sort of endless, so you know it’s going to be entertaining one way or another. And judging by all the comments, people are pumped! See for yourself:

It’s funny that the skaters themselves basically have no idea what’s going on as Andrew initially explains everything. Because while we’re sitting here scratching our heads, thinking, „What?“ so are they.

Regardless, I’m a big Winkowski fan and watching him skate flat with that boat of a board is always fun. Keep your eyes peeled for more episodes dropping soon! This is just the beginning.

More about The Santa Cruz SUPER S.K.A.T.E Show:

Eight skaters, endless props and challenges, seven games of SKATE unlike anything we’ve ever done before! Each game has its own challenging theme that is a surprise to the skaters participating and its own unique set of rebate challenges which could extend their game and chances of winning it all. This is the Santa Cruz Super SKATE Show.

Nike SB Catches up With Dutch Ripper Keet Oldenbeuving as She Preps for Paris Olympics

Nike SB recently caught up with Dutch Olympian, Keet Oldenbeuving to talk skating, the Olympics and to hear about where this journey of hers began.

Fun fact, but Keet’s first international contest was actually in Paris years ago, so you know she’s thrilled to come full circle and compete there again this summer at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The World Stage is waiting! Take a look:

I have to imagine returning to where it all began must be pretty exciting for Keet. As all these skaters prep for the big day, it’s awesome to learn more about where they all came from and what led them to the Olympic Games in the first place.

The future is as bright as ever for Keet and all the skaters participating in the 2024 Summer Games, but the freedom and creative outlet skateboarding provides is still the core reason these rippers are out their repping their countries at—arguably—one of the biggest ’skate contests‘ in the world. The big day is upon us. Get ready.
