Gabriel Summers‘ „No White Flag“ Zero Part Premiere

Baltimore’s Vu skate shop and Boston’s Orchard skate shop—two well-respected shops here in the US—just dropped the first edits for the ‚X Games Showdown‘ (why does this concept sound so familiar!?) and as big skate shop supporters over here, we had to share them and get in on the fun. Voting is daily and we’ll do our best to post all the first-round edits as they drop! Who ya feeling? Check ‚em below:

Nike SB recently revealed the skateboarding federation kits for the United States and Japan, along with a few other apparel items designed by Alexis Sablone. Swipe through and get a closer look at some of the gear below.

I think it’s rad that they got Alexis to design the gear. As we all know, she’s super creative and dialed—on and off the board—and it just adds a touch of authenticity to the entire project in a cool way. And the fact that she’s participated in the Olympics herself really ties it all together perfectly.
As Nike mentions in the caption:
„Anything but uniform, the 2024 federation kits are the creative collision of skateboarding’s style, influence and inclusivity — fostering freedom of expression and personality to lead, on and off the board.“

To support the apparel, the collection also includes two limited shoe drops, including a unique take on Alexis’ signature Converse CONS AS-1 Pro and a brand new Nike SB Dunk Low.

The apparel will be available July 18, and the shoes will be available August 22. If these are calling out to you, well, you’ll just have to keep your eyes peeled!

We live in a collaborative world, and there’s certainly no shortage of brands out there who have the potential to link up and make some magic.
While we’re on the subject, Palace and Vans recently posted a teaser of a new shoe collab that’s in the works and as always, there’s a variety of opinions out there stemming from all directions. But first things first—take a look:

What are your thoughts? Personally, I think they look okay, but that could very well be because they pretty much just look like Eras with a Palace hit on the heel. I’ve worn Eras for years, skated plenty of them… they’re fine. They’re also usually pretty easy on the wallet, though! I’m not sure what these will be retailing for, but „collab“ shoes typically come with a mark up. Hey… who knows?

Regardless, there are just as many people in the comments who are stoked and asking when they drop as there are, well, folks who aren’t. There are definitely some die hard Palace fans out there, and Palace—just as a brand—is obviously no stranger to collabs. They’ve done a lot… and they will do a lot more. Again, no problem. But some do tend to make more sense than others.
No news on release dates (or really anything else) as of now, but keep your eyes peeled and we’ll do the same. In the meantime, consider this a conversation starter. And in fairness, the caption is very Palace-esque and simply says:
• SOME
• PALACE
• VANS
• BASICALLY
They aren’t lying! Hate ‚em or love ‚em, they’ll be dropping soon.
