Look: Lakai Teases New Public Enemy Capsule Hitting Shops Now

The new Lakai x Public Enemy collection is hitting skate shops nationwide as you read this. They’ve been teasing some of the gear for a few months and it’s finally here! The capsule includes shoes, slippers, apparel, and some unique accessories (like a mini baseball bat) that any skateboarding Public Enemy fan will love.

Lakai recently offered another sneak peek of a few items (see below), but to see the full capsule, you’ll need to visit your local skate shop!

As far as shoes, the Cambridge, Telford Low, Owen Vulc and Owen Slipper all got the Public Enemy treatment, and to accompany them, a few tees, socks, hoody, jacket, beanie and accessories—including a sticker pack, a slip mat for turntables, and as mentioned, a mini baseball bat—round out the capsule perfectly.

Seeing Rick and Mike rocking the tee and hoody in the post above got me fired up on this new collection in itself, this is one of those link ups that just make sense. No stranger to collaborating with a wide range of brands, musicians, artists—you name it—Lakai continues to keep things fun, interesting and perfectly nostalgic with drops like this.

I wish I could show you more right now, but like I said, you need to hit up your local shop and see if they have it first! If you can’t, well, I’m sure Lakai will have the collection up on their website soon enough. In the meantime, plenty of online retailers already have the items available if you’re stuck in this crazy digital age. Whatever works.

Whether you’re a Public Enemy fan, a Lakai fan, or both, this collection is definitely calling your name. Don’t let the subtle branding fool you, though! The attention to detail on all the items is something to admire. Simply put—it all looks dope.

What’re you waiting for? Hit your local and see if they have it yet.

HORNED OWL by NICK SAGE

nick sage horned owl barber straight razor traditional tattoo art custom skateboard

We see a lot of Nick Sage’s custom skateboard graphics come through our presses, and we’re fans of them all. This Featured Deck design of a horned owl, who probably gives bad shaves, is one of Nick’s latest, showcasing his traditional tattoo art method. Nick’s brand is SKRBL Skateboards, which you can purchase at etsy.com/shop/SKRBL or follow on Instagram @skrblskateboards. Since Nick is also an actual tattoo artist, you can find his ink work on Instagram as well @picklesage.

Whether you create in a traditional style or dabble in modern techniques, you can get your custom graphics on pressed on a pro-quality skateboard deck at BoardPusher Skateboards. Keep up with our favorite skateboard designs and skate clips from us and our friends by following @boardpusher.

Last Resort AB Drops ‚Doomed From the Jump‘ Outtakes and Bonus Clips

Last Resort AB just uploded some attempts, makes, heartbreaks and unseen clips from their latest video, ‚Doomed From the Jump‘ on their YouTube channel for us all to enjoy. This is the good stuff! Take a look:

The gang’s all here! Join Chris Milic, Jesse Alba, Nick Rios, Cruise Mosberg, David Stenström, Paul Grund, Dane Brady, Aaron Loreth, and Frankie Decker as they let us be a fly on the wall during some of the heated sessions that went into making the video. Honestly, I might have enjoyed this more than the video itself. Love me some raw clips and behind-the-scenes action.

Clips like this remind us all just how much blood, sweat and effort go into making these videos and securing these clips. So many battles. So many slams. So many close-calls. All for a few seconds of riding away! Never gets old.

But I think the icing on the cake is all the hype these sessions provide. We all know the feeling. The only thing better than landing a trick you’ve been battling is seeing your homies do the same thing. The streets will always provide. And the never-ending war between tricks and terrain continues.

Shoutout to the dudes behind the lens as well. They’re in the trenches all the same and get a front row seat to these epic moments. Filmed by: Daniel Dent, Jon Colyer, Geoff Brown, Benny Maglinao, Kris Burkhardt and Jesse Alba

„$$$SIX,“ A wild day at Tompkins Square Park from filmer Naquan Rollings

Sitting in Tompkins Square Park, on a nice Indian Summer day, occasionally pushing around—you could do a lot worse in life. The Vans team was in NYC in September, which might explain the Curren Caples clip here. Jiro is in there skating before Tompkins got repaved and repainted. Carlisle Aikens comes in with the power-popped, butter switch heels. Stay tuned at 3:00 when the parkour homie tries a backflip from board to board!

After the backflip intermission, we’re back on the blacktop with Carlisle absolutely killing it and some high flying stunts of his own by young Jiro.

At any rate, Naquan Rollings is one of our favorite filmmakers working in NYC right now and his edits are exquisite time capsules of what’s going on in the city that never sleeps.

Here’s that Vans week we were talking about earlier:

Zero and Heroin Surprise Kaanan and Dalton Dern With Pro Model Boards

This past weekend was a family affair as both Kanaan and Dalton Dern turned pro! Kanaan is the newest Zero rider to have his name on a board, while Dalton joins the pro ranks for Heroin. What an epic way to surprise them! Check out the posts:

//platform.instagram.com/en_US/embeds.js

Jamie Thomas and Fos came together to surprise their newest pros in a unique way. Two brothers, two board brands—one epic celebration. Skateboarding is cool like that! Both of these dudes absolutely deserve the bump and their debut graphics are super sick. They’ve been putting in the work for years and we’re stoked to see all their blood and sweat being rewarded in the best way.

If you know anything about the Dern brothers and how they skate, you know they’re constantly producing. No gimmicks here. Both of them fit the mold of each brand so perfectly, too. Dedicated. Committed. If you think these two are going to slow down and become some comfy, lazy pros—think again.

Big ups to Jamie and Fos, and of course all the rippers at Zero and Heroin who constantly kill it behind the scenes so moments like this can happen. These dudes are living the dream, but it wouldn’t be possible without some serious support and effort from all involved.

Head to your local shop and pick up Kanaan and Dalton’s debut boards, or hit the Zero/Heroin sites. Your first pro-model is obviously a huge deal. I’m excited to see what these rookie pros produce in the coming years. Congrats, dudes!
