Adidas Presents an Unfiltered Look at Tyshawn Jones‘ Inspiring Story in ‚TYSHAWN II: The Way You Walk‘

As adidas prepares for the launch of the highly-anticipated Tyshawn II, they give us a candid and unfiltered look at TJ’s story in their new film, ‚The Way You Walk‘, while shedding some light on how his character has evolved in such an admirable, respectful way over the past few years.

The video—narrated by Tyshawn’s mother, Termisha Henry—takes us back to the early days of Tyshawn’s career up until now, with personal snippets from his mom and good friend (and adidas teammate), Na-Kel Smith peppered in along the way. From the Toy Machine/Emerica days to turning into a brand of his own and every moment in between, TJ has come a long way and deserves it all. Take a look:

We all know Tyshawn is built different, but hearing his mother’s perspective in regards to his rise to stardom is pretty much the coolest thing ever. It’s inspiring, but it also provides a kick of motivation at the same time. Seeing TJ turn into the incredible skateboarder and role model that he is today has been an absolute treat, to say the least. And you know he’s just getting started!

He’s just a skaterat, through and through, and continues to blow our minds with every clip he surprises us with (when and if he feels like it)—so far, so good.

The Tyshawn II’s will be available Saturday, June 1st on the adidas site and select skate shops worldwide. You can get a peak at them here.

Behind the Design: Di’Orr Greenwood Brings Navajo Symbolism and Art to Nike SB’s Latest Dunk and Blazer

This „behind the design“ installment—and more importantly, the concept of this collaboration between Navajo skateboarder, mentor and artist, Di’Orr Greenwood and Nike—is definitely one of the most powerful the Swoosh has put out recently.

It shines light on feelings of emotion and struggle, healing and hope, skateboarding and creativity—the list goes on. Di’Orr’s story is as inspiring as it is eye-opening. This is far more than just another Dunk release. See for yourself below:

„Lending her design acumen to the Nike SB Dunk Hi Decon and Blazer Mid Decon, Di’Orr Greenwood sits down with SB to dive into the symbolism, concepts, and message behind her two collaborative silhouettes,“ Nike writes.

The attention to detail on both the Dunk and Blazer are extremely impressive as well. Every little piece of these shoes has meaning behind it, which I really admire. Nike did an interview with Di’Orr to dig a little deeper on where she found inspiration for these designs, which you can read here. She really poured her heart and soul into this project, and it shows.

Both pairs of shoes will be available at local skate shops across the country starting this Saturday, June 1st. And limited runs will be available online shortly after. Big ups to Nike and Di’Orr on this powerful collaboration. Again, this is much more than just another Dunk release. They’re a window into the lives of Di’Orr and her community.

A video dedication to Dylan Roy, a pivotal member of the Texas skate scene

Dylan Roy was a a pivotal homie and filmer in the Texas skate scene for many years. His time on this earth unexpectedly came to an end January 1, 2024 but his spirit lives on and echoes throughout the ones he loved. He left behind a time capsule of footage from 2020-2022 that never had it’s release, until now. The video had a local Austin premiere at Pease Park on May 24th, 2024, on what would have been Dylan’s 35th birthday. Friends and family gathered to celebrate Dylan and enjoy the gift he gave us all: his love, time, and also some dope vx footage. This footage completes the trilogy in his CDXX series and serves as a reminder to enjoy your life, take care of yourself, and go on skate trips with your friends. Thanks for the good times, Dylan! Love you and we’ll see you on the next sesh <3 -Calvin Millar

Battles, Bangers and Close Calls: Watch Diego Najera and Jonny Hernandez’s Raw ‚VITO‘ Clips

California-based video creator, Kev Perez stays busy behind the lens and his latest indie video, ‚VITO‘ featured a strong cast of heavy-hitters, including Diego Najera and Jonny Hernandez. He recently shared a video featuring some of this duos raw clips and it’s full of battles, bangers and plenty of close calls. Nothing like some raw footage to make you really feel like you’re right there on the session. Take a look:

To the non-skating eye, a lot of folks watch video parts and just assume all of these tricks are as easy as some of these dudes make them look, but as most of us know, that’s hardly ever the case. It takes a lot of effort, determination and some serious grit to stack some of these clips, and it’s cool to see that process happening behind the scenes.

There’s a lot of style boiling between these two. Some of these lines were pretty bonkers! And Kev’s filming is always top-notch. If you haven’t seen ‚VITO‘ check it out below. Great soundtrack, great skating, and again, I’d bet that a ton of your favs are up in the mix. But first things first—watch the raw clips and get stoked.

Big News: Geoff Rowley Now Rides For Toy Machine

Honestly, I had to check the date and make sure this wasn’t some kind of clever April Fool’s Day joke! And like countless others who just saw the announcement, I’m thrilled that this is absolutely real—Geoff Rowley officially rides for Toy Machine.

The board looks sick and the news has us fired up over here! This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while, to be honest. Peep the post below to get a closer look at the board and start texting the group chat.

„Ummmm, yeah. No need to adjust your eyes although you might need a slap in the face. This is happening,“ Toy Machine wrote as the caption, surprising us all. „Geoff Rowley is officially brainwashed. The future is gonna be fucked up.“

As if their new video „Real Life Sucks“ wasn’t insane enough, the Bloodsucking Skateboard Company is the talk of the town right now with an announcement like this! I love seeing one of my all-time favorite brands making big moves in 2024. We needed this news, whether we realized it beforehand or not. The little kid in me is going nuts right now!

Hailing from Liverpool, England, Rowley is one of those skaters who will be remembered and referenced for years to come. He’s inspired multiple generations with his fearless approach, admirable style and incredible video parts.

He’s always pushed the boundaries (on and off his board), and continues to do just that today. So many tricks come to mind when we think of Rowley, and again, this news is bringing me straight back to my childhood. Get your hands on Rowley’s iconic first pro model board from Toy Machine at your local shop!

And spend some time reminiscing with other excited skaters in the comments of the post. Congrats to Rowley and the entire Toy Machine team. This is huge news!
