Myles Willard skates, Chris Thiessen films, and we get a ripping VX1000 video part

It’s been a minute since we’ve seen a VX-helmed masterpiece from our former video director Chris Thiessen, but seeing his sun-drenched, unmistakeable VX colors are a sight for sore eyes. This time, Thiessen has his death lens fixed on East Coast transplant Myles Willard, flexing his all terrain skills across the greater Los Angeles area. Short and sweet, run it up.

„Myles Willard VX1000 part | Video by Chris Thiessen | Sony VX1000 (Japan model) | Sony Premium mini DV tapes | Greater Los Angeles County 2024

No real description from Thiessen either, other than the specific Sony VX model and DV tape brand.

These two mine all kinds of lesser-seen back alley spots, wallrides and quick-footed two-piece gems. The music fits Myles‘ speedy, lanky style. Thiessen’s editing style is always fun to watch.

Thiessen’s always had a keen eye on the stylish ones we all want to see video parts from. Just check his master work in TransWorld full length videos Substance and Riddles in Mathematics.

The Limosine Skateboards team hits Montreal in this new edit

We love when Limo drops edits—they’ve got a good routine going: Go on a trip with the team to somewhere rad to skate, have a blast, clip up, then put out the video with your new drop of boards and gear. Any time we get new Cyrus Bennett, Karim Callender, or Max Palmer footage, we’re on it ASAP. You oughta press play immediately.

The music is great, the clips are insane—this team is a wrecking crew. It’s no wonder their boards and gear is flying off shelves at core shops across the country.

They got some amazing clips at the famous Big O skate sculpture/thing. They really get busy on that bank spot. Montreal is pretty much a must-see skate destination, whether you make it up for a Dime Glory Challenge or the Jackalope festival, get some poutine, don’t forget your fingerboard, and get there while you can!

Exclusive Release: Zero Skateboards Drops Limited Run of Signed Adrian Lopez Decks

Adrian Lopez and Zero have come together on a limited run of Lopez’s classic ‚Metal Health‘ graphic, signed by the OG himself. The classics never fail. Get a closer look at the board below, then go put on your favorite Lopez video part!

View the original article to see embedded media.

Although Lopez might not officially be on the Zero team roster anymore, his legacy with the brand will live on forever. Just think of all his incredible video parts over the years? Thrill of it All, Misled Youth, Dying to Live… absolute classics. His parts in those timeless videos are some of those rare ones that will truly never get old.

A lot of brands have been re-releasing classic graphics lately, and while it’s certainly nothing new, nostalgia has been a heavy theme recently. It makes sense, if you think about it. We’re all older now! Most of us have a little cash to cure that nostalgic itch, so why not give the people what they want!?

Zero’s archive is stacked with so many gems, they could re-release the classics for days. They have a special place in many of our hearts and have been providing stoke to the skateboarding world for decades. Say what you want, but Adrian Lopez was a major player during Zero’s golden days.

Just FYI—you can get the board signed or unsigned, which is actually pretty convenient. Some folks might wanna grip this thing up and get rad! Others might be looking for the perfect wall-hanger. Regardless, the choice is yours.

I’ll forever be an Adrian Lopez fan. He’s inspired multiple generations and continues to keep us all stoked to this day. Love to see him still doing cool stuff with Zero, too! So rad. Hit the Zero site and get your before they’re gone!

First Look: Emerica Brings Back Classic Black/Yellow OG-1 Colorway for Holiday 2024

We got the black/tan/orange, we got the olive/tan… but Emerica brought back the OG-1 in black/yellow just in time for the holidays, and people are fired up. This is not a throwback CCS catalog photo. They’re here. Get a closer look:

View the original article to see embedded media.

„Emerica is proud to reintroduce the iconic OG-1, one of our most demanded reissues,“ Emerica mentions. „A timeless silhouette from the late 90s, the reissued OG-1 features a bulletproof full rubber cupsole and a suede/mesh upper. It also includes triple stitch reinforcements in the high-wear zones for added durability and the classic herringbone tread for grip, just how you remember it. Made for the Emerica fans. Made for skateboarding.“

Depending on how old you are, you might remember these as the Marc Johnson signature models, but I guess that’s really here nor there. They’re just oozing with nostalgia either way, and simply staring at them personally shoots me back to a special time in skateboarding. Young, dumb, naive… I can totally remember when skate shop shoe walls were filled with kicks like these. Anyone else?

I know I say that every time I talk about these re-releases, but I mean… I have to.

While I’d like to assume these are available at your local skate shop, you can get them on the Emerica site here. But check your local first!

Regardless, I’ve been loving these archival revivals. My closet is stacked. But whatever… there’s always room for more. Add these to your collection of classics and I’ll do the same.

Welcome Back: Josh Kalis Spends a Week in California

Back in Cali like he never left, perennial skate rat Josh Kalis packed a week full of skateboarding and media appearances into a recent trip to SoCal: A Nine Club appearance and more. Check it all out in the new episode from DGK.

„Back in California for a weekend and hit The Nine Club, Jkwon and the DGK x Kaido House event in Los Angeles. See it all in Welcome Back – Episode 16. Filmed & Edited By: Mikey Callender“

Check out some behind the scenes of The Nine Club’s studio/apartment, hanging with his old pal Stevie Williams, hitting up the Kaido House event, then a classic Sunday session at JKwon with a big crew.

Back when Josh was living in North County San Diego just a stone’s throw from the TWS office and skatepark, and his sponsors at The Kayo Corp were just one business park complex over, he’d be in our skatepark all the time. Check out his classic Skate Nerd episode versus Peter Smolik.

You know we had to barge Kalis‘ house and film a SkateHoarders with him:
